About this team

The customer engagement team provides outer and inner facing technology solutions required to onboard and maintain our customers on the Endowus platform by optimizing our onboarding experience and increasing the customer’s engagement with the platform by providing accurate and timely communication, while ensuring that our customers are staying compliant to the local regulatory requirements.

We strive to build robust and resilient systems to maintain a good customer experience while juggling the need to expand the business internationally. Resilient communication and compliance channels, rapid onboarding and internationalisation are some of the things we will be working on.

About this role; responsibilities & ownership

  • We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys driving innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Being part of Endowus's Technology team, you will build end-to-end product features that you are confident of delighting user experiences.
  • You will need to leverage the entire technology stack to realise these goals and will be part of a team that is constantly tackling difficult questions of scale, architecture, and interaction.
  • You will work on projects focusing on consumer-facing products with a short feedback loop from customers.

Requirements & qualifications

  • Bachelors' or above in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 2-6 years of experience developing distributed systems or building a larger application from scratch
  • Experience in Scala and at least one additional programming language (such as Java or JavaScript etc)
  • Has a strong product sense and be emphatic to customers' experiences of using the product. 
  • Self-driven, has a strong sense of ownership and able to work and learn independently
  • Comfortable with numbers and motivated by steep learning curves

Nice to haves

  • Developed mission-critical products, e.g. trading platforms, medical applications
  • Basic knowledge of finance and trading
  • Preferably some exposure to CQRS / Event Sourcing patterns
  • Basic understanding of infrastructure (e.g. databases, message queues, Docker)
  • Interest in mentoring and guiding Junior Engineers
