The Fund aims for medium to long-term capital appreciation by following the performance of the global stock markets through investment as a feeder fund in the Vanguard® Global Stock Index Fund.
Provides Singapore investors with passive exposure to the MSCI World Index through a SGD denominated Singapore-domiciled structure. Provides investors with exposure to a broad universe of companies, reflecting the performance of over 1,300 large and mid-cap equities across 23 developed market countries.
Managed by Vanguard, a pioneer of index funds, having developed the first index fund for individual investors in 1976 and wrapped by LionGlobal Investors for access to Singapore investors including CPF members.
Since its inception in 2000, the Fund has effectively tracked the MSCI World Index with a difference in performance lower than 0.20%. The Fund's low expense ratio aids in cost-effective tracking of the Index.
Vanguard employs a sampling replication strategy to track the performance of the MSCI World Index by investing in all or a representative sample of the securities that comprise the index, with each holding weighted approximately in line with its proportion in the MSCI World Index. The index is constructed using MSCI's Global Investable Market Index methodology, which selects large and mid-cap stocks that are accessible and weights them by free-float market value, reflecting conditions across regions, sectors, styles and market cap segments.
