ESG and Clarification: Active fixed income Article 8 Funds will lose their limited flexibility to invest in transitional (non‑coal‑screen‑passing) opportunities while this flexibility is newly added to Article 8 equity Funds, and Article 8 Promoting ESG Funds will also stop committing to maintain an ESG rating above their benchmark to support harmonisation across the framework.

ESG and Clarification: Aberdeen Investments is removing the separate “SDG enabler” category and will instead classify these companies directly under the relevant SDG impact pillars to increase investment flexibility while maintaining the same sustainability criteria. The Funds will be allowed to invest up to 20% of assets in other Sustainable Investments to support financial objectives and diversification, while the remaining 80% will stay fully aligned with SDG goals, with all investments still required to meet the established screening criteria.
