About us

Endowus is an award-winning independent fee-only wealth & fund platform. Licensed in Singapore (MAS 101051) and Hong Kong (SFC BQR225), Endowus is the first digital advisor in the region to span private wealth and public pension (CPF & SRS in Singapore). We proudly serve as a fund investment platform and fiduciary advisor to over 200,000 individuals, family offices, charities, endowments, and institutions.

Today, we work with 70+ global leading asset managers across major asset classes – public markets, private markets, hedge funds and alternatives – and make it our job to assess and access their Best-in-Class funds, and advise clients on how to invest in these funds to reach their goals.

Being an Endowus client means having people and systems that obsess over investing on your side. It means having high-quality fund access, technology automation, personalisation, and high-touch service when you want it, to help you organise your money towards your near-term needs and long-term wealth goals. It means gaining wealth & a peace of mind.

Samuel Rhee
Co-founder, Chairman &  Chief Investment Officer

Embedded in our name is our mission to bring endowment investing to all of us.

Evolving the business model: good incentives drive better decisions.

Aligned incentives lead to better motives, choices, business models, advice, outcomes and lives. At Endowus, we seek to advance the client relationship with a business model deserving of the wealth entrusted with us:
  • Uniquely, Endowus is not compensated through subscription fees, transaction fees, leverage, or recurring trailer commissions, so the firm and its people are not incentivised to churn, push leverage, or push high-commission products.
  • Endowus can only make a clean, transparent, assets-based Endowus Fee (of 0.25% to 0.60% per annum) directly from our clients (what the industry calls “fee-only”) to be only incentivised to grow our client’s wealth and unconflicted in dedicating 100% of our care to helping our clients succeed. When our clients succeed, Endowus succeeds.
  • To ensure independence and alignment, we innovated 100% Cashback on trailer commissions not only to lower client costs, but importantly to ensure our assessment and selection of investment strategies is based on merit, and that the advice we provide is based on our client’s goals, not the amount of trailer commissions collected for distribution.

Kill commissions and the path to serve clients will be clear. We provide clients with a service. Clients should transparently know how much we earn from them and we must add value worthy of our fee in order to build a lasting relationship of trust, respect and mutual success.

Co-founder and CEO
Evolving financial outcomes: the best investment strategies should rise to the top
Merit, proven implementation, and net returns after fees are our priority when screening for investment strategies - not trailer commissions fund managers may pay for distribution.

Our dedicated Investment Office (Endowus IO) quantitatively and qualitatively screens thousands of funds to curate the Best-in-Class for our clients, partnering with 70+ global leading asset managers across all major asset classes and strategies — cash management, fixed income, equities, real estate, private markets, hedge funds, and alternatives across passive, quant, active, long-short, absolute return, arbitrage, and more — to organise, curate, and bring access to better solutions for all of us.

Endowus does not deal in single-line stocks, bonds or private companies. We choose to specialise in investment strategies implemented by managers with proven track records, as we believe that standing on the shoulders of the talent, systems and scale of the industry’s best provides our clients with a better risk-reward tradeoff and probability for success in reaching their goals.

We search globally for top-tier investment strategies, bringing data and experience together to assess quality, access efficiently, and advise our clients scientifically to achieve their goals.

Evolving the wealth experience: personalised, evidence-based, convenient, efficient

Personalised, evidence-based investing means focusing on the conversation on our client’s future purpose of the money – from near-term needs to long-term goals to generational wealth to expressing market views – and ensuring their wealth is invested appropriately in portfolios to achieve those goals. The industry calls this “liabilities-driven asset allocation.”

Evidence has shown that investor and advisor emotions, market biases, and speculation lead to poor outcomes over time. Our conflict-free business model and advisory framework guide clients consistently and systematically to investment solutions for their goals today, and as those goals may evolve in the future.

Better wealth management means having access to the tools, technology automation & convenience, and human experts, to run wealth efficiently, to enable our clients to earn time and build resources to pursue their passions.

We understand that our clients entrust us with a responsibility that goes far beyond technology or financial markets — they entrust us with their wealth — their livelihoods and ambitions of a better future for themselves, their loved ones and stakeholders.

Sin Ting So
Chief Client Officer
Institutional-grade asset safety & security for all of us

Safety and security of client assets at Endowus has been a top priority from our foundation. Many failures of banks and financial institutions happen because they lend out or invest monies (including clients’ deposits) to hopefully make a net interest or return margin, leading to a potential asset-liablity mismatch on their balance sheets.

Endowus is not a bank; we are licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, and we follow regulatory requirements on segregation of clients’ assets strictly. We do  not commingle our balance sheet with client assets or cash. We built Endowus to limit client’s counterparty exposure to us, and we do not offer leverage, nor do we lend client monies or assets out. We require customers to pay for all trades in full before purchase, and all client invested assets are ultimately held with 1-1 asset backing by fund-appointed custodians. Endowus is built to bring institutional-grade, crisis-proof asset security, custody and safety to all of us.

We don’t measure our success by the time our clients spend on our platform, or the number of trades they do. Our business model, technology and systems prioritise safety of client assets and empowering our clients to make smart investment decisions to achieve every one of their life goals.
