Endowus adds Partners Group’s S$10 billion flagship to bring institutional private equity access to its private wealth clients

June 2, 2022

Endowus, Singapore’s leading digital wealth platform has entered a partnership with Partners Group, a leading global private markets firm with over US$127 billion in assets under management, to bring institutional private equity access to Endowus Private Wealth clients.

The new offering provides accredited investors with direct access to one of Partners Group’s flagship private equity funds. The fund combines direct, primary and secondary private equity investments which are broadly diversified across over 500 companies, assets, geographies and vintage years. The fund focuses on industries benefiting from long-term transformative trends.

Endowus clients can now access private equity with no subscription or redemption charges, at an institutional low-cost fee, and a minimum investment of US$100,000. This seeks to improve outcomes while lowering the barriers for gaining exposure to private equity for Singapore-based individuals and family offices.

Gregory Van, CEO of Endowus said, “Every day at Endowus, we focus on providing our clients with independent and institutional quality wealth management at a fraction of the typical cost. Understanding the importance of both public and private markets, we have been looking for the right fund managers with proven track records and solutions to provide our clients with access to private equity. We are excited to bring Partners Group’s time-tested and diversified private equity offering to our client base. Despite a deep interest in exposure to alternative investments, many clients often face obstacles, illiquidity, and complicated cost structures when trying to access them via traditional players. The private wealth market is evolving, where clients are increasingly looking for a hybrid investing experience — maintaining some relationships with banks or other financial institutions, while also seeking a seamless, tech-enabled and personalised one with platforms like ours.”

Christian Wicklein, Managing Director, Head of Private Wealth Europe and APAC at Partners Group said, “Both Partners Group and Endowus are focused on achieving sustainable, long-term returns for their clients and this will form the basis of our new partnership. We value Endowus' model as a financial advisor with a strong digital backbone that provides quality education and advice on investments. Partners Group has a long history of developing bespoke solutions for different investor groups and this partnership is another example of that. We look forward to providing Endowus' private wealth clients with exposure to our transformational investments and thereby helping to further 'democratise' the private markets industry."

Endowus had also seen a significant uptick in the number of accredited investors on its platform, almost tripling between April 2021 and 2022.

Samuel Rhee, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Endowus said, “Making access easier for individual investors for private and illiquid assets is part of Endowus’ mission to focus on the three building blocks of investment success — access, advice, and cost.  This new collaboration with the Partners Group opens new doors for Endowus Private Wealth clients, by giving immediate exposure to a diversified and mature private equity portfolio, putting clients in an even better position to achieve their long-term wealth goals. We have seen tremendous growth in the number of accredited investors on our platform and this shows that a digital-first investment solution with a seamless experience will lower the barriers for accredited investors to access private and alternative investment options. We are certain that mass affluent investors will continue to accumulate wealth and lead this market’s future, and we are moving rapidly to ensure we are at the forefront of this evolution by securing the best-in-class solutions and experience for our private wealth clients across all segments.”

While the recommended investment horizon for the fund is mid to long-term, the fund is a semi-liquid strategy that allows for monthly subscriptions and redemptions subject to gating restriction. Clients receive fully paid-in shares and do not need to process capital calls or distributions. These and other accredited investor products and solutions are available on the Endowus Private Wealth platform.
