By invite only event — Private Credit in 2025: The Golden Age Continues?
Endowus will be hosting an exclusive in-person event, on 10 February 2025 (Monday) from 6:30 to 8pm, with a panel of experts from leading global private credit managers: Apollo, Blackstone and Blue Owl.
Moderated by Endowus Chairman and Co-Founder, Samuel Rhee, the panel will discuss the outlook for private credit as we enter into a potentially higher for longer interest rate environment, a new administration in the US introducing policies that could potentially global inflation trajectory and Fed rate path. Most importantly, whether the remarkable growth experienced by private credit is expected to continue and how investors should consider including the asset class in their portfolios.

About the speakers
Frank Shen, Head of Greater China Global Wealth Management, Apollo
Mr.Shen is a Managing Director and Head of Greater China Global Wealth Management at Apollo. Prior to joining Apollo, Mr. Shen worked at Oaktree Capital since 2019, where he was with Oaktree’s Greater China marketing team and looked after both institutional and intermediary relations in the region.
Prior to that, he worked at HuaAn Funds, one of the first asset managers established in mainland China, where he was an assistant director in Corporate Development. Prior thereto, he was with Mirae Asset Global Investment as a senior manager where he was responsible for business development in mainland China. Mr. Shen began his career with Shanghai Securities, where he served both as a client manager and research analyst.
Gerald Chan, Private Wealth Solutions, Blackstone
Gerald Chan is a Principal in the Private Wealth Solutions Group, based in Hong Kong.
Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Chan worked at UBS Global Wealth Management’s Direct Investments Group in Hong Kong where he focused on distribution of Private Equity co-investment opportunities, direct investments into pre-IPO companies & ECM syndication for the Greater China region. Prior to UBS, Mr. Chan worked in the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) teams at both Rothschild and Standard Chartered.
Johann Santer, Managing Director & Head of APAC Private Wealth, Blue Owl
Johann Santer is a Senior Managing Director at Blue Owl and the Head of Private Wealth APAC. Johann is a member of the global Private Wealth Leadership Team and in his role, he focuses on the firm’s expansion of the Private Wealth business across Asia Pacific markets. Johann is responsible for fundraising, expanding strategic relationships, and identifying innovative solutions for high-net-worth clients and their advisors across the APAC region.
Johann has more than 20 years of experience in the asset management and private banking industry. Before joining Blue Owl, Johann was Fidelity International’s Regional Lead for Wholesale, alongside his role as Head of Private Banking, Wealth and Strategic Clients, APAC ex-Japan. During his tenure, Johann led the successful buildout of Fidelity International’s private banking and wealth franchise in the APAC regions, adding coverage of Hong Kong and Singapore Wholesale. Prior to that, Johann was Managing Director and Head of Investment Specialists, Funds Hong Kong, at Bank Julius Baer and before that he spent 10 years at a leading quant based Hedge Fund overseeing global fund distribution.
Samuel Rhee, Chairman and Co-Founder, Endowus
Samuel Rhee is Co-founder, Chairman and the Group CIO of Endowus. He is the former CEO and CIO of Morgan Stanley Investment Management in Asia, with nearly three decades of institutional investing experience in Singapore, Hong Kong, and London.
He heads the Endowus Group’s Investment Office and ensures every client has greater access to holistic portfolios that are thoughtfully designed to meet their specific wealth goals. He is responsible for asset allocation and investment selection across all offerings, with a vision to provide individual investors with the same knowledge, resources, and products traditionally only made available to institutional investors, at a low, fair fee.
As a FinTech investor and expert, he is passionate about leveraging technology to solve socio-economic problems such as the retirement adequacy and global pension crisis. Sam is currently a member of the World Economic Forum’s Longevity Steering Committee. Together with other leaders across the public and private sector, Sam participates in dialogues to address longevity concerns and drives collaboration efforts directed at managing the financial implications of aging populations.
Sam also serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Naver Corp, where he lends his extensive knowledge and expertise to the global ICT conglomerate headquartered in South Korea.
Hugh Chung, Chief Investment Officer, Endowus
Hugh Chung is the Chief Investment Officer at Endowus. In his current role, Hugh leads the integration of investment functions and strategies across Endowus. He oversees the centralised Investment Office, which provides group strategic direction on the expert curation and management of all investment solutions across public and private markets, for individual and institutional investors in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Hugh has more than 20 years of experience in the asset management and financial advisory space in Asia. In his previous role as the Chief Investment Officer for a single family office, he was responsible for strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction and fund selection across all regions and asset classes. Hugh was also previously Managing Director at Kadensa Capital and Azentus Capital as the founding member and senior investor of two of the most successful hedge fund launches in Asia. Before this, Hugh had oversight of Korea equity distribution at J.P. Morgan, and began his career at Goldman Sachs and Samsung Securities.
