About the speakers
Josh Rubin, Client Portfolio Manager, Thornburg Investment Management
Josh Rubin is a client portfolio manager for Thornburg Investment Management. He serves as a liaison between Thornburg’s investment management team and key external decision makers regarding all of the firm’s equity, fixed income and multi-asset investment strategies. Josh’s work covers Thornburg’s fundamental bottom-up research and top-down thinking as he shares organizational perspectives on research, analysis, process, philosophy and investment outcomes. He joined the firm in 2017.
Josh was a portfolio manager and associate portfolio manager on Thornburg’s equity team before transitioning to the CPM role in 2025. Prior to Thornburg, he had portfolio manager and senior analyst responsibilities for global, U.S. and emerging markets equity strategies at Driehaus Capital Management in Chicago and Marsico Capital Management in Denver. Josh spent several years in fixed income investment banking before shifting to equity asset management.
Josh earned a BSFS in international politics from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
Andrew Gu, Co-Head of Asia (ex-Japan) and Managing Director, Thornburg Investment Management
Andrew Gu is co-head of Asia (ex-Japan) for Thornburg Investment Management.
He is responsible for the company’s Asia business, leading the sales and distribution efforts across the company’s institutional, intermediary, and international lines of business in Asia.
Prior to joining Thornburg, Andrew was executive director at CICC Hong Kong, charged with Delta one and structured solutions. Prior to CICC, he had stints at Société Générale, Citic Trust Capital, and Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong, where he was leading sales and structuring roles for the Greater China region across asset classes. Andrew has extensive experience in both buy and sell side roles in the U.S. and Asia.
Raised in Shanghai, China, Andrew received a BA in finance from NYU Stern School of Business and an MBA in finance from Zicklin School of Business in New York.
Hugh Chung, Chief Investment Officer, Endowus
Hugh Chung is the Chief Investment Officer at Endowus.
In his current role, Hugh leads the integration of investment functions and strategies across the Endowus Group. He oversees the centralised Investment Office, which provides group strategic direction on the expert curation and management of all investment solutions across public and private markets, for individual and institutional investors in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Before joining Endowus, Hugh has more than 20 years of experience in the asset management and financial advisory space in Asia. In his previous role as the Chief Investment Officer for a single family office, he was responsible for strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction and fund selection across all regions and asset classes.
Hugh was also previously Managing Director at Kadensa Capital and Azentus Capital as the founding member and senior investor of two of the most successful hedge fund launches in Asia. Before this, Hugh had oversight of Korea equity distribution at J.P. Morgan, and began his career at Goldman Sachs and Samsung Securities.
