About this role; responsibilities & ownership
Endowus Hong Kong is looking for an experienced compliance and risk professional to lead its compliance and risk function in Hong Kong.
In this role, you will:
- Work closely with leadership and business teams (including product & engineering, marketing, client experience and other teams) to provide proactive, in-depth business-focused advice and support the roll-out of new products and solutions;
- Understand and appropriately manage regulatory and business risks pertaining to Endowus’ business in Hong Kong;
- Point of contact in managing our relationship with local regulator(s) and ongoing licensing requirements;
- Provide oversight in business conduct and other compliance matters such as financial crime, technology risk, and data privacy & protection;
- Assist in reviewing of marketing materials to confirm compliance with local regulations;
- Review, maintain and develop company policies and procedures in line with Hong Kong regulatory requirements;
- Build knowledge amongst the team to understand the latest regulatory developments that affect the business and provide interpretation;
- Manage annual internal audit conducted by outsourced service provider; and support external audit where required;
- Reporting locally to the Head of Hong Kong, with matrix reporting to the Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs in Headquarters in Singapore.
Requirements & qualifications
- 10+ years of compliance experience within wealth management, asset management, brokerage firm, or robo-advisory.
- An ability to distil complexity and to identify and clearly communicate practical, risk-based solutions.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders–from internal parties to sales to external financial partners, enterprises, and executives.
- A passion for learning about disruptive fintech business models and the intricacies of how they are structured.
- Great organizational skills.
