Serene Chew
Serene Chew is the Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs at Endowus. She is responsible for managing the legal, regulatory and compliance risks for Endowus across all business functions.
A Singapore-qualified lawyer, Serene combines over 10 years of experience in the public sector and private sector. She began her career with the Singapore Legal Service, and served in a number of capacities including Justices’ Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of Singapore, and a Deputy Public Prosecutor focusing on financial crimes with the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
As legal counsel at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), she led legal teams advising internal supervisory and policy teams on financial regulations. She assisted on various projects including implementing the Variable Capital Companies, and Fintech Sandbox frameworks. Serene also practiced at an international law firm, where she advised financial institutions on a range of regulatory and compliance issues, including licensing applications, on-going compliance matters, and internal investigations.
Serene read law at the University of Oxford and New York University on full academic scholarships and graduated with top honours.
