Brown Advisory

Brown Advisory is an investment firm established in 1993 as an affiliate of Alex. Brown, one of the oldest investment banks in the US. The firm manages approximately $145 billion with clients in 40 countries worldwide. We are a firm of over 750 colleagues – each with an equity interest – with locations in Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Carolinas, Delaware, London, New York, Virginias, San Francisco, Washington, D.C and in 2019 launched an office in Singapore, our first in APAC. Since our founding in 1993, we have managed active equity strategies for institutional investors and discretionary portfolios for private clients.

Brown Advisory’s Equity Investment Team is comprised of 51 investment professionals predominantly based in the U.S. The firm also has over 170 investment professionals across our fixed income, balanced portfolio, investment solutions and private equity groups.

The majority of our institutional clients choose Brown Advisory for a specific equity or fixed income strategy. We manage a range of U.S. and global equity strategies which are available to non-U.S. based clients via Dublin UCITS V funds and separately managed accounts. We believed that disciplined, bottom-up research, coupled with teamwork and the free exchange of ideas amongst peers, are the keys to achieving outperformance. The combination of our investment philosophy and our client-first culture helps to make Brown Advisory a compelling investment manager.

Our equity strategies are available to a wide range of investors via separately managed accounts and funds, including U.S. mutual funds and Dublin-based UCITS. Brown Advisory has established a reputation around the world as a leading active manager of long-only equities. We have a broad range of expertise, including U.S. and global strategies, and those with a sustainable focus.
